Your History. Your Voice. New Haven’s Story

Help the Ethnic Heritage Center Tell New Haven’s America 250 Stories!

New Haven’s history isn't just about what happened centuries ago—it’s about the stories of the diverse mosaic of people shaping our city right now. This diversity makes New Haven vibrant and fun.

As part of New Haven’s America 250 Celebration, the Ethnic Heritage Center (EHC) is updating their 33-panel exhibit,  Ethnic History of New Haven. The exhibit, which opened in 2009, currently features census data and materials from our archives to tell stories of groups in our community from pre-1638 to 2000. The EHC is creating new panels for the years 2000 to 2026, celebrating New Haven’s rich diversity. A smaller portable traveling exhibit will be created to share with the entire communityBut we can’t do it without you. We want your stories.
