Your History, Your Voice

Help Us Shape New Haven’s America 250 Celebration! 🇺🇸✨

New Haven’s history isn't just about what happened centuries ago—it’s about the incredible, diverse mosaic of people shaping our city right now.

As part of New Haven’s America 250 Celebration, the Ethnic Heritage Center (EHC) is bursting open our archives to update our signature exhibit and the acclaimed Walk New Haven cultural tours. We are updating our history to better reflect the true diversity of our community, bringing our story all the way from pre-1638 straight into 2026 and beyond.

But we can't do it without you. We want your stories.

How You Can Help Make History

We are looking for passionate individuals, cultural groups, and community leaders to join a culturally inclusive team.

Together, we will:

  • Uncover Untold Stories: Identify the key people, places, and historic events from 2000 to the present that deserve a spotlight.

  • Put New Neighborhoods on the Map: Add new sites and design fresh routes for our Walk New Haven: Cultural Heritage Tours.

  • Take History on the Road: Help us build a brand-new, portable exhibit centered on the core values of democracy and equal opportunity.

Ready to Make Your Mark?

If you want to ensure your heritage, neighborhood, or community's modern history is preserved, we want to hear from you!
